May 4, 2012 – Habitat for Humanity Annual GOLF-A-THONREGISTRATION NOW OPEN!

May 3, 2012 – Habitat for Humanity Women Build Clinic

Habitat for Humanity in partnership with Lowe’s will be hosting a Women Build Clinic on “How to Finish Interior with Paint and Trim” on May 3, 2012 from 5 -8 pm at 842 Litchfield Ave, Sebastopol, CA. Sign ups are limited to 15 people and are filling up quickly.

This event will be followed by celebrating National Women Build week on May 10th on the Build. Registration is also limited to 15 volunteers. T-shirts such as this one will be given away to participants as well as more fun give aways!

 

May 19, 2012:  Art Tour at Oliver Ranch – REGISTRATION CLOSED –FULLY BOOKED

Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County is proud to host a rare opportunity to tour world-renowned Oliver Ranch. Motivated by a love of art and a desire to support artists, Steve and Nancy Oliver commissioned several site-specific art installations for their 100-acre Sonoma County property. The Oliver Ranch art collection is 20+ years in the making and is not open to the general public.  For more information about Oliver Ranch: http://oliverranchfoundation.org/

There are a limited number of tours of Oliver Ranch opened annually to non-profit organizations to support fundraising efforts. Your participation helps build houses for hard-working low-income families in Sonoma County.

Date: Saturday, May 19, 2012

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Cost: $100.00 per person, includes transportation and catered box lunch

Please note: The tour is not wheelchair accessible and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. The tour covers approximately 2.5 miles and 600 feet in elevation change.  It can be likened to a light hike in the woods as paths are unpaved.

Additional details
Private cars are not allowed at the ranch. We will meet at the Habitat for Humanity office at 9:00 a.m. and take a bus to Oliver Ranch. After the tour we will have a catered box lunch and depart at 1:30 p.m. to arrive back at the Habitat for Humanity offices at approximately 2:00 p.m.

This event is a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County. A portion of your ticket is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Habitat for Humanity is a registered, tax-exempt, nonprofit (501)(c)(3) organization.

Habitat for Humanity wil be holding an Online Silent Auction of a beautifully handcrafted quilt.  Date is yet to be determined, but for more information and to see pictures of this one-of-a-kind stunner, CLICK HERE.

Bids for the quilt can be made in person at Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 1201 Piner Road in Santa Rosa or by calling Darlene Mola at (707) 578-7707 ext. 104.  On-line bidding at the Habitat website, www.habitatsoco.org, will be available soon.

The Welcome Home Quilt Project: The WHQ workday is the first Tuesday of the month, held at the Village Sewing Center in Coddingtown Mall, Santa Rosa. You do not have to be a quilter to participate. We encourage everyone to join us.
