Rebuild Sonoma County
Sonoma County faces a daunting crisis in providing housing for low- and moderate-income families impacted by the devastating wildfires. Habitat for Humanity Sonoma County has received a tremendous outpouring of support from affiliates from around the country and the world who are ready to help us rebuild our community.
Prior to the fires, new housing for low- to moderate-income families was already a significant challenge. It is now critical for our community to prioritize rebuilding housing for these same families who have now lost their homes. There is a significant risk that many of these people will will be forced to leave Sonoma County permanently due to the lack of available affordable housing. This likely exodus will make it even more difficult for our community’s businesses, schools, health services, and government services to recruit and keep much-needed employees.
Moving forward, our affiliate has assembled a working group to formulate our steps toward rebuilding Sonoma County. Habitat is looking at large-scale, innovative solutions with our community partners, and we will need your support to implement them.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help us continue our mission of building affordable housing for low- to moderate-income families. Your donation will used specifically in Sonoma County to benefit our local community.
It has been humbling to see the resiliency of this wonderful community in the face of such devastation. From the work of emergency responders and volunteers, to the strength of those who have lost everything, we are surrounded by and inspired by the community spirit and unconditional generosity of the people of Sonoma County.
Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County will continue meeting our mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope — a mission more vital now than ever.
