Stepping Up to Rebuild Sonoma County

Habitat for Humanity Sonoma Fire Survivors Tiny Home Challenge

After the historic wildfire event of October 2017, Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County has explored ways to expand its programs across the board as part of the community rebuilding efforts. In the short term our ReStore has provided over $260,000 worth of free home goods to those who lost everything. In the long term Habitat will be partnering with fire survivor families who would not otherwise be able to rebuild, to help them be able to rebuild their permanent home.

In the short term our ReStore has provided over $260,000 worth of free home goods to those who lost everything. In the long term Habitat will be partnering with fire survivor families who would not otherwise be able to rebuild, to help them be able to rebuild their permanent home.

Right now, Habitat is fundraising for our “Sonoma Cottages” program, which will provide fire survivor families with 300 sq ft. tiny homes to live in as they journey through the rebuild process. In order to jump start funding for this project and get boots on the ground, Habitat has been met with a fundraising MATCH of $120,000 through the “Sonoma Fire Survivors Tiny Home Challenge!”

We need your help in order to meet this match. The sooner we kickstart this fundraiser- the sooner we can begin constructing homes! Please click the Tiny Home image above to learn more about this project, the funding matchers, and to contribute to Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County's newest program! For questions about this program please email l.rentzel@habitatsoco.org.
